Carbide Park is located in La Marque, Texas. To get there head south on I-45 from the Houston area as if you were going to Galveston. Exit and turn right on FM 519/Main Street. After a short drive it will be on your right. The actual address is 4102 Main St, La Marque, TX 77568.

The Running Route

There is plenty of parking in several areas. I like to drive in past the main buildings and take a left into a parking lot where a picnic area and the asphalt trail is visible. Just hop onto the trail and go either right or left as the route is a basic loop.

The loop is about half asphalt and half concrete street. The entire length is just over a mile and a half. But you can be imaginative; grassy areas are abundant if you want to get some cross-country running in.

Other Carbide Park Amenities

There’s more to do at the park if you want to make a day of it. There are playgrounds for the kids and picnic areas for the family. The park is also home to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Galveston County. They periodically offer various classes and activities that are related to gardening and landscaping.

All in all, the park is a great venue to get in a nice run, especially if you are making a day trip to Galveston. If you have any experiences regarding the park, please share them with our readers in the comment section below. Thanks!
